    A list of eligible voters for the October 11 referendum will be posted on the town’s website, www.pikeroad.us, and available for viewing at town hall beginning Friday, September 23 at 8:00 am. If you believe you are eligible to vote and do not see your name on this list, call town hall at (334) 272-9883.

    Cost of 16 mills on a $100,000 home = $160 per year or $13 per month
    Cost of 16 mills on a $200,000 home = $320 per year or $26 per month

     

    The Pike Road Town Council set the millage rate at 16 mills. Residents of the Town of Pike Road will have an opportunity to vote for this millage rate increase to support the Pike Road School System on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.     Listening Sessions scheduled to garner more feedback from citizens before the town council makes a decision on a millage rate for the proposed ad valorem tax referendum:

    Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pike Road Town Hall
    Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pike Road Town Hall

    Please note that these sessions are intended to provide more opportunity for residents to share their thoughts on the millage rate so that the Town Council can make an informed decision of a millage rate to set for the proposed ad valorem tax referendum. Once a millage rate is set by the Town Council, residents of the Town of Pike Road will have the opportunity to vote whether or not they would support the school system through the ad valorem tax increase.

    The Town of Pike Road Town Council passed a resolution on March 23, 2011 requesting the state legislature's approval to hold a referendum for the town's residents to decide if they would support an ad valorem tax increase of up to 25 mills to support the Pike Road School System. Click here for the press release. It is the desire of the Town of Pike Road to let this be a decision of the people of the Town of Pike Road.
