Gordon Stone, Mayor

Gordon was born in 1963, and was raised on a cattle farm in Pine Apple, Alabama. He graduated from Fort Dale Academy, where he was class salutatorian. He attended Auburn University, where he was president of the College of Agriculture, a member of the SGA cabinet, active in his fraternity, and a letterman on the Auburn University football team. He even tackled Heisman Trophy winner Bo Jackson – one time! He graduated in 1986, and later earned an MBA from Auburn University/Montgomery in 1991.

Gordon Stone is the Executive Director of the Higher Education Partnership, an association that represents the 15 public universities in the state. As the first employee of the Partnership, he has been in this role since its inception in 1997. Under his leadership, the Partnership has grown from a fledgling organization fighting for a voice into a strong, member-rich association. Currently, the Partnership has 13,000 dues-paying members. He is also the chief administrator for the Higher Education Leadership PAC and the Partnership's Foundation. Honors include selection and participation in Leadership Alabama, graduating from the Alabama Ag and Forestry LEADERS program, and being named in 2002 by the Montgomery Advertiser as one of the "Leading 40 Under 40" in business.

An active member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, Gordon serves as a deacon, leads a New York Mission team and enjoys teaching Sunday School.

Gordon is married to Ellen Mosley Stone, who is executive director of the Alabama Family Practice Rural Health Board. They have two daughters, Sarah Grace and Emily Elizabeth.

Chris Dunn, Councilman, Mayor Pro Tempore, Planning Commission Chairman

Chris Dunn has been the President of Kyser OfficeWorks since November 1988. Kyser OfficeWorks is one of the largest commercial furniture dealerships in the southeast. He has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial furniture industry. The company has grown under his direction from 3 employees to 27 employees and is now a 7 million dollar company. Steelcase, the world’s leading commercial furniture manufacture, has awarded Kyser OfficeWorks, Inc. multiple quality leadership awards.

Outside of the office Chris is very active in the community. Some of his activities include:

President of the Montgomery Rotary Club, Board of Directors of the Montgomery Rotary Club, Board of Directors of the Montgomery Rotary Foundation, Town of Pike Road Town Council, Town of Pike Road Planning Commission, Mayor Protemp Town of Pike Road, Board of Directors of the East Montgomery Water and Sewage Authority, Boy Scout leader of Pack and Troup 307, First United Methodist Church Administrative Board, First United Methodist Church Cathedral Choir, Steelcase’s National Dealer Council. Chris is also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Chris was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1961, but moved as a young child to Brewton, Alabama where he graduated High School from Santa Rosa Christian School in Milton Florida. He graduated from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in 1984.

Chris is married to Lynne Oliver Dunn, who is a licensed Interior Designer at Kyser OfficeWorks. They have 2 children, Rachel and Joshua.

Tommy Brassell, Councilman

Councilman Tommy Brassell was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, where he attended public schools. He is a Graduate of Auburn University. For the last 14 years, Tommy has been employed by Sherlock, Smith and Adams, Inc. Architect/Engineers. Prior to coming to SSA, Tommy began his career with Blount where he worked for 10 years. He has lived in Pike Road for the last 12 years and served as Vice-Chair of the Planning Commission before assuming his present position on the Town Council.

Tommy and his wife, Denise, a teacher and upper school director at Eastwood Christian School, have two grown children. Tommy and Denise are active members of Frazer United Methodist Church.

Wayne Rabren, Councilman

Councilman Wayne Rabren was born and raised in Auburn, Alabama, and is an Auburn University alumnus. He is employed by Cook's Ham, Inc. He and his wife, Charlene, who is Pike Road’s Town Clerk, have two children and six grandchildren. Councilman Rabren is a member of Pike Road Baptist Church. Before serving as a councilman, Rabren was the first mayor of Pike Road and first Planning Commission Chairman.

Rob Steindorff, Councilman

Councilman Rob Steindorff was born and raised in Montgomery, and is an Auburn University graduate. He currently serves as president of Southern Handling Systems. Councilman Steindorff and his wife, Marion, have three children and are active members of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. Councilman Steindorff chairs the PRESET Curriculum Committee.

Leroy Tolliver, Councilman

Councilman Leroy Tolliver was born and raised in Pike Road. He recently retired from Hager Hinge after 25 years, and is an active member of Christian Life Church. He and his wife, Carrie, have one daughter and two grandchildren.

Charlene Rabren, Town Clerk

Charlene Rabren was born and raised in the Pike Road community and has served as town clerk since the town incorporated in 1997. Charlene and her husband, Wayne, who served as Pike Road’s first mayor, are members of Pike Road Baptist Church. Charlene has two children and six grandchildren.

Buddy Garland, Planning Director

Utilizing over 60 years of experience in the construction industry, Buddy Garland serves as planning director for the Town of Pike Road. In this position, he is a member of the town planning commission and oversees the Natural Trail committee. Buddy has five children and five grandchildren. He and his wife, Beth, are members of Pike Road Baptist Church.
