![]() In the early days after Pike Road incorporated, town leaders set eight goals that would guide the development of the town. With funding secured for construction of the Pike Road Natural Trail, the goal of providing family oriented recreation will soon become a reality. The first 14.7 mile stretch of the trail will run from Highway 231 to Flowers Road. Originally conceived as a horse riding trail, the updated plan will accommodate walkers, joggers and bicyclists as well as horseback riders. A citizen advisory committee is currently working with trail designers to plan a trail which will best reflect the desires of the people of Pike Road. The Natural trail is just one segment of the town's plan to add quality to our commmunity by creating enjoyable outdoor recreation areas. In keeping with the "smart growth" concept, land use plans include several city parks and a wildlife sanctuary. If you have ideas for this or any project, please do not hesitate to share them. You can call Town Hall at 272-9883 to contribute your thoughts. |
