About the Event
Learn how to build a birdhouse that will not only serve as a wonderful holiday gift for friends and family, but also as a cozy home for migrating birds during the winter, as our monthly Ag & Stewardship Seminar Series continues with a Holiday Bird House Workshop on Dec. 19!
The workshop will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pike Road Founders Station, and is presented in partnership by the Pike Road Ag & Stewardship Club, Montgomery County 4-H and the Montgomery County branch of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
This is a wonderful activity for all ages of aspiring ornithologists (bird watchers)! Participants will create a bird house, learn how to care and maintain it, and learn how bird houses benefit native and migrating songbirds, which in turn benefit our environment. Participants will also receive resources for identifying the birds who visit - and live - in their bird houses! These birdhouses make wonderful holiday gifts that will keep on giving to the recipient as well as to our beautiful Alabama ecosystems. We will have hot chocolate & cookies for snacks.
Children ages 6+ are welcome with a participating adult. This workshop costs $10 per adult and $5 per child to cover the cost of supplies. Payment (cash or check) is required upon registration. Visit Town Hall (9575 Vaughn Rd) to register by Dec. 17!
