"We are so grateful for the engaging community we have in the Town of Pike Road. Thank you, friends and neighbors, for showing up and showing out at our events, holidays, and community gatherings. We hope to see some new and familiar faces at our upcoming events!

This Monday, Aug. 21, we want to invite you to join us at Pike Road Veterans Pavilion for Mondays with the Mayor! This radio show is designed so that we can stay connected with you. Join the conversation so we can answer any questions you may have!
Next, our Wreath Making with Forest Products Workshop is filling up quickly! We want you to be able to create and take home your very own wreath, so make sure you register quickly to secure your spot. This workshop comes at the perfect time for us to begin preparing for fall!

Remember to stay connected with the Pike Road Arts Council, because they always have something new and exciting happening! This month, head over to the Pike Road Arts Center for the Art Talk & Tea with Tara Cady Sartorius on Aug. 27 or Meet & Greet the Artist: John Guernsey on Aug. 30!

Lastly, but certainly not least, our Veterans Appreciation Ceremony is right around the corner. This season, consider dedicating one of our engraved brick pavers to a special veteran in your life. Send in your application by Sept. 14 to ensure that your brick will be in place for the Veterans Appreciation Ceremony on Nov. 5!

With this much activity, it can be easy to get lost in the business of a new school year. Make sure to connect with us at @townofpikeroad on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter so you never miss an event.

As always, we will continue to pray for you, and we encourage you to pray for each other.

“This Memorial Day, we wish you all a safe, happy weekend spent with family and friends. We encourage you to take time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf. This week brought opportunities for reflection and new beginnings across the Town of Pike Road, but without the sacrifices made by military families across this great nation, we would not have the freedom to celebrate all that we enjoy today.

School is out for the summer, and we want to share our best wishes and congratulations with the Pike Road Schools Class of 2023, who celebrated graduation this week! We are so proud of our community's graduates, and we are so thankful for the leadership, teachers, and staff of PRS, who encourage and empower these young people every day. “Looking at the year ahead, there are so many opportunities to gather together, meet new neighbors, and celebrate all our hometown has to offer. Pike Road, your participation makes it all possible. We are so appreciative of your ongoing engagement and your spirit of hospitality. If you are not already involved, we encourage you to jump into activities from our ENHANCE initiative as soon as possible – you don’t want to miss a thing!

This Sunday, you are invited to Art Talk & Tea as the 2023 series kicks off. This afternoon at the Pike Road Arts Center will feature award-winning sculptor Korey Rowswell and tea-style treats. While you’re there, check out the ongoing “Everyday People” art show, which encourages viewers to contemplate the stories of the people we see or meet along life’s journey. Finally, in February, the Pike Road Arts Council will begin a four-part Classical Masters seminar series featuring the great composers Mozart and Beethoven. These events are a great way to dig deeper into the arts or find the perfect piece to take home.
Then, this Monday, Jan. 30, we hope to hear from you as the first Mondays with the Mayor of 2023 broadcasts live from Pike Road Family Eye Care! We’ll talk all things Town of Pike Road, but the Mondays with the Mayor program is really all about giving YOU the opportunity to connect with Mayor Stone, so plan to tune in on the MAX Round Table and call in or text your questions during the show!

We also invite you to join us as we show our gratitude toward the men and women of our nation’s armed services through the ongoing Valentines for Veterans Card Drive. It’s so easy to participate: Just buy a card, make a card, or personalize one of the cards available at Town Hall with a kind note for our local veterans. All cards dropped off at Town Hall by Feb. 10 will be delivered to local veterans in care of the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System – just in time for a sweet Valentine’s Day surprise. This is a great activity for families with children, as well as for classes, service organizations, and church groups, and we hope you help us say “thank you” by sharing a smile and a card.

As part of our efforts to show our gratitude to those who serve and those who have served on our behalf, we have events once each quarter with a focus on giving back. Thank you, Pike Road, for your participation and your show of patriotic spirit at every opportunity.
