About the Event

The 2020 Agriculture & Stewardship Seminar Series continues on Feb. 14 with local apiculturist Mike Keller and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Intro to Bee Keeping will start with the basics and give an overview of the bee keeping process. The event will be held at Pike Road Founders Station (4902 Pike Rd) from 9 - 11 a.m.

Mike Keller, apiculturist and owner of Southern Sweet Bee, will cover:

  • Equipment & Supplies for starting a hive
  • Hive placement for suburban & rural properties
  • How to maintain a healthy hive
  • Honey extraction techniques
  • Uses for harvested honey & wax
