About the Event
Join us for a casual evening of community fellowship and refreshments as we welcome Artist John Brian Guernsey to the Pike Road Arts Center! Drop in from 4 - 7 p.m. on March 19.
After moving from California to Georgia, John Brian Guernsey embarked on his full-time art career in 2006. John paints primarily alla prima or ‘en plein air,’ but has recently moved to creating larger studio paintings as time permits. John is a master of painting atmosphere and light and takes his inspiration from nature, city life and architecture; everywhere he can find the play of light and shadows. John is a nationally-ranked artist, and he was recently awarded Best of Show at Olmsted Park, Georgia and at Los Gatos, CA in 2019. John is a high-demand instructor who travels throughout the Southeast providing workshops, as well as participating in a variety of plein air festivals like the Pike Road Arts Council's annual Paint Out.
The Pike Road Arts Center is located at 944 Wallahatchie Rd, under the water tower. It is home to the Water House Gallery, studio space, and a variety of events presented by the Pike Road Arts Council, an ENHANCE initiative committee.
