Montgomery native and Pike Road artist, Glenda Milton Adams, can remember telling a pre-school teacher she wanted to become an artist. “I have no doubt that art is my gift from God. What I do with it is my gift to Him (I Timothy 4:14-15 KJV).”
Many fine art teachers and workshop artists have contributed largely to the self-taught artist, including the late Mary Jo Mullens, living artists: Clark Walker, Roger Dale Brown, Linda Blondheim, Barbara B. Davis, and Morgan Samuel Price. Professional affiliations include the Montgomery Art Guild, the Alabama Plein Air Artists (APAA), and the Pike Road Arts Council.
“Artists are such open, sharing people and I have been blessed with the privilege of painting with, and befriending so many professional artists.”
Glenda taught art as an elective subject for three years at Calvary Christian Academy and many of her students won awards in the annual ACEA State competition.
Accepted into numerous juried exhibitions, Glenda has participated in many solo and group gallery shows, quick draw events, and wet-paint sales. Many of her works are in private collections across the United States.
To quote C.S. Lewis, “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.”
